- German authorities authorized GMP production of Actinium-225 for investigational patient treatments.
- The production route combines radium irradiation in the Czech Republic with processing in Braunschweig.
- A commercial-scale Ac-225 facility in China is planned after initial operations begin in early 2027.
Eckert & Ziegler Therapeutics GmbH received authorization on October 28, 2026, to manufacture Actinium-225 under Good Manufacturing Practice standards. The EQS News announcement says the certification enables use of the radioisotope in investigational patient treatments.
Ac-225 moves toward routine supply
The company has moved from initial production runs toward GMP-grade routine manufacturing. The production route uses cyclotron-based irradiation of Radium-226 at the Czech Academy of Sciences' facilities in the Czech Republic, followed by processing at Eckert & Ziegler's Braunschweig site.
The process also recovers unconverted Radium-226 for reuse across multiple cycles. That approach is intended to reduce dependence on constrained precursor inventories and support more predictable output volumes and costs for radioisotope supply and contract development and manufacturing programs.
Capacity plans extend beyond Germany
Eckert & Ziegler is preparing a second production phase at its Qi Kang Medical Technology joint venture in Jintan, China. The facility is intended to become the country's first commercial-scale Ac-225 site after initial operations begin in early 2027. Further expansion near Boston and in Germany remains possible.
November report is next checkpoint
The next quarterly financial report is scheduled for November 12, 2026. Investors will be looking for evidence of an operating recovery, progress in isotope products and signs that the new Ac-225 platform can develop into customer supply.
