- EBOS plans to shift capital toward selective acquisitions after completing its distribution-centre renewal.
- Management expects group-wide savings from support functions, procurement and supply chains to emerge from fiscal 2027.
- The Chemist Warehouse wholesale contract in New Zealand will wind down progressively through fiscal 2028.
EBOS Group is moving from a major infrastructure program toward selective acquisitions and group-wide efficiency measures, according to BusinessDesk. The report, published on Wednesday, October 21, said chief executive Adam Hall outlined the next phase at the annual meeting.
EBOS spent AUD 121 million on eight acquisitions during fiscal 2026. The company now sees scope for further bolt-on deals as capital expenditure falls from AUD 145 million in fiscal 2026 to about AUD 100 million in fiscal 2027.
Efficiency becomes the next earnings lever
The group completed eight major distribution facilities after four years of investment totalling AUD 360 million. Management expects the upgraded network to lift productivity, with the Kemps Creek site targeting a 30 percent improvement against its former location by the end of fiscal 2027.
Cost initiatives will focus on support functions, procurement and supply chains. Finance and information technology work has already begun to be centralised and automated, while purchasing terms and network utilisation are under review. Benefits are expected to emerge by the end of fiscal 2027 and increase from 2028.
Contract transition limits near-term clarity
EBOS also extended its New Zealand Chemist Warehouse wholesaling contract. The arrangement will wind down progressively through the end of fiscal 2028, allowing the company to resize its cost base and pursue other logistics opportunities. Management described the contract's earnings contribution as modest and said three sites had already been exited.
