Drägerwerk stock faces a mixed earnings picture after stronger nine-month sales and weaker third-quarter profitability. The 2026 outlook remains unchanged.

Sales Growth Meets Margin Pressure

  • Drägerwerk lifted currency-adjusted nine-month sales by 5.3 percent to EUR 2,453.9 million.
  • Nine-month EBIT rose to EUR 111.8 million, helped by customs refunds, while third-quarter EBIT declined year on year.
  • The company retained its 2026 forecast for currency-adjusted sales growth of 2.0 to 6.0 percent and an EBIT margin of 6.0 to 8.0 percent.

Drägerwerk reported stronger sales and higher nine-month earnings on October 29, but the third quarter showed renewed margin pressure. The company kept its 2026 forecast unchanged in the corporate release published by EQS News.

Demand Growth Meets Cost Pressure

Currency-adjusted net sales rose 5.3 percent to EUR 2,453.9 million in the first nine months of 2026, compared with EUR 2,343.5 million a year earlier. Order intake increased 3.6 percent to EUR 2,673.5 million, giving the group a stronger order base for the final quarter.

Both divisions contributed to sales growth. Medical Technology revenue increased 4.4 percent to EUR 1,367.0 million, while Safety Technology revenue advanced 6.5 percent to EUR 1,087.0 million. The demand mix was less balanced: Medical Technology order intake fell 3.5 percent to EUR 1,430.7 million, whereas Safety Technology order intake climbed 13.1 percent to EUR 1,242.8 million.

Quarterly Profitability Softens

Third-quarter net sales increased 1.0 percent on a currency-adjusted basis to EUR 850.8 million. Order intake grew 7.0 percent to EUR 926.2 million, supported by a 20.2 percent increase in Safety Technology order intake. Medical Technology order intake declined 3.0 percent as demand in the EMEA region weakened.

EBIT fell to EUR 48.0 million from EUR 56.7 million in the prior-year quarter. The EBIT margin narrowed to 5.6 percent from 6.8 percent. Higher personnel, logistics and IT costs weighed on the operating picture, even as the group posted stronger demand and sales.

One-Off Effects Lift Nine-Month EBIT

Group EBIT rose to EUR 111.8 million from EUR 77.1 million, lifting the margin to 4.6 percent from 3.3 percent. The result included EUR 27.9 million in customs refunds, with EUR 20.1 million attributable to the third quarter. EQS News said EUR 3.8 million of the refunds related to current-year customs expenses and was therefore earnings-neutral.

The customs refunds improved the reported result and gross margin, but they are not a recurring operating driver. For investors, the stronger safety business supports the revenue outlook, while the weaker quarterly margin and higher functional expenses leave execution in the final quarter central to the full-year target.

Outlook Remains Unchanged

Dräger continues to target currency-adjusted sales growth of 2.0 to 6.0 percent and an EBIT margin of 6.0 to 8.0 percent for 2026. Reaching the margin range will depend on whether the group can convert the stronger order intake, particularly in Safety Technology, into profitable sales while containing operating costs.

Drägerwerk stock traded at 104.20 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:08 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026, 0.57 percent below the Xetra close of Thursday, November 5.
