Deutsche Börse is widening access to Germany's leading equities beyond regular exchange hours. The model keeps Xetra's core auctions intact.

Deutsche Börse expands trading access

  • The group launched round-the-clock access to DAX 40 equities through its affiliated venue 360X.
  • Overnight and weekend orders use a regulated request-for-quote process outside Xetra's core session.

Deutsche Börse launched round-the-clock trading for DAX 40 equities on Tuesday, October 27, combining Xetra's core market liquidity with off-hours execution through 360X. The group said in its official media release that existing clients can connect directly to 360X and continue settling trades through their Clearstream accounts.

Trading model extends beyond Xetra

360X handles transactions during overnight hours and weekends through its regulated multilateral trading facility. The venue uses a request-for-quote process for standard DAX 40 instruments, giving participating clients access to euro-settled equities outside the regular exchange session.

Xetra remains the central venue during European core hours from Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30 CET. Deutsche Börse also continues its extended retail service on T7 from 08:00 to 22:00 CET on weekdays. The combined model therefore adds overnight and weekend access without replacing the established Xetra timetable.

The company said the core Xetra processes remain unchanged. Regular auction cycles continue, and prices formed on 360X outside Xetra trading hours do not determine the next Xetra opening price or influence its opening auction. For investors, that separates the additional trading opportunity from the benchmark price formation on the main market.

Access depends on market participants

Existing Deutsche Börse clients can activate 360X through a simplified administrative process in the group's Member Section. Trades can continue to use existing post-trade connections because settlement takes place through the participants' established Clearstream accounts.

The practical reach of the service will depend on which banks, brokers and liquidity providers make the venue available to their customers. Request-for-quote trading also differs from continuous order-book trading, so execution conditions can vary outside the main European session. The launch gives investors more flexibility to respond to news at night or during weekends, but access and pricing remain dependent on the intermediary and available counterparties.

Deutsche Börse stock before Xetra

Deutsche Börse stock traded at 318.90 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 09:43:32 CET on Friday, October 30, 1.24 percent above the Xetra close of Thursday, October 29. The real-time quote of Deutsche Börse stock reflects the pre-Xetra market indication, not an official Xetra opening price.

Germany's DAX market remains the key reference for the blue-chip equities covered by the new trading model.
