Dell broadens AI security offering
The company introduced Security Hardening for Dell AI Factory, a service that examines physical, virtual and application layers for configuration risks affecting AI workloads. Dell said specialists will provide prioritized recommendations aligned with a customer's IT and security standards.
Resilience Operations for AI is designed to identify the AI capabilities most critical to a business and create recovery policies for them. Dell also expanded PowerProtect AI Assistant with a conversational interface covering resilience tasks, restores and reporting. Daily risk briefings and a human approval step are intended to help customers respond before problems escalate.
Identity recovery becomes a focus
Dell added PowerProtect identity resilience capabilities for Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Okta. The tools are intended to restore a clean copy of an identity platform and its access controls after an incident, reducing the need to rebuild permissions manually.
Dell Managed Detection and Response for Identity adds continuous monitoring for suspicious authentication activity, compromised accounts and privilege misuse. The company said its experts can initiate automated response actions when defined attack patterns are detected. The offering extends Dell's cyber resilience strategy beyond backup and recovery into the systems that govern access to applications and infrastructure.
Storage roadmap extends into quantum risk
Dell is also connecting PowerProtect more closely with PowerScale. The integration is designed to manage retention-locked local snapshots for faster recovery, while PowerScale SmartSync can synchronize snapshots to Dell ObjectScale for an additional recovery copy and longer retention.
The latest PowerStore software is scheduled to add quantum-safe encryption for data in transit over Fibre Channel when used with supported PowerEdge servers and configurations. Dell also plans a Post-Quantum Readiness Assessment to identify cryptographic exposure, rank risks and prioritize migration work.
PowerProtect identity resilience, Managed Detection and Response for Identity, Resilience Operations for AI and the expanded AI Assistant are available now. Dell expects the PowerStore software and post-quantum assessment in November, while PowerProtect and PowerScale snapshot orchestration is planned for December. Security Hardening for AI Factory is scheduled for October.
What investors should watch next
The announcement strengthens Dell's positioning in enterprise infrastructure and services, but the release did not provide financial targets for the new offerings. Investors will therefore look for evidence of customer adoption, recurring services revenue and broader demand for AI infrastructure when Dell reports fiscal third-quarter 2027 results on November 24, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. Central Time.
