CVS Health reported stronger third-quarter results on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, and raised its full-year targets. The company's investor release said revenue increased 5.4 percent year over year to 108.4 billion US dollars, while adjusted earnings per share rose to 2.09 US dollars from 1.60 US dollars.
The real-time quote of CVS Health stock traded at 74.81 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 16:03 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026, 2.31 percent above the Xetra close of Thursday, November 5. The comparison uses the Xetra close of 73.12 euros.
Higher guidance follows margin recovery
CVS Health lifted its full-year 2026 adjusted EPS floor to at least 8.20 US dollars from a previous range of 7.90 to 8.10 US dollars. The company also raised its GAAP diluted EPS floor to at least 6.98 US dollars from a range of 6.84 to 7.04 US dollars.
Operating cash flow guidance increased to at least 15.5 billion US dollars from at least 11.5 billion US dollars. The CVS Health investor release said the changes reflected improved expectations in Health Care Benefits and Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness.
Insurance leads the earnings recovery
Health Care Benefits adjusted operating income rose to 912 million US dollars from 314 million US dollars. Its medical benefit ratio improved to 91.3 percent from 92.8 percent, with the company citing better underlying performance in its Government business.
Health Services revenue increased 9.5 percent to 53.964 billion US dollars, while adjusted operating income rose to 2.106 billion US dollars. Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness revenue declined 2.0 percent to 35.498 billion US dollars, although adjusted operating income increased 10.6 percent to 1.635 billion US dollars.
The GAAP comparison also benefited from the absence of a 5.7 billion US dollar goodwill impairment recorded in the third quarter of 2025. Adjusted results therefore offer the cleaner view of underlying operating performance, although they exclude amortization and other items.
Risks remain for the final quarter
Management retained a cautious view for the rest of 2026 because medical cost trends remain elevated and potential macroeconomic headwinds could affect performance. The improved insurance margin supports earnings quality, while weaker Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness revenue leaves reimbursement pressure and regulatory price reductions as issues for investors to monitor.
US equities remain sensitive to interest-rate expectations, healthcare costs and corporate earnings. Current S&P 500 market reports provide the broader market context.
