- Third-quarter revenue rose 3% year over year, while net income fell 22% after impairment charges.
- CRH reduced its 2026 adjusted EBITDA outlook and cited inflation, weaker residential activity and the earlier Arcosa closing.
- The company authorized a USD 6 billion buyback through the end of 2030 and expects positive demand trends in 2027.
CRH reported third-quarter results on Thursday, October 29, 2026, with revenue growth but weaker profitability and a lower full-year outlook. The building materials group also authorized a new USD 6 billion share buyback through the end of 2030. The company announced the figures in its third-quarter results release.
Revenue increased 3% from the year-earlier quarter to USD 11.4 billion, supported by pricing, underlying demand and acquisitions. Net income dropped 22% to USD 1.2 billion from USD 1.5 billion, primarily because of impairment charges. Adjusted EBITDA was unchanged at USD 2.7 billion, while its margin narrowed to 23.5% from 24.3%.
Guidance absorbs cost pressure
CRH now expects 2026 net income of USD 3.1 billion to USD 3.3 billion, compared with its previous range of USD 3.9 billion to USD 4.1 billion. Adjusted EBITDA guidance was reduced to USD 7.8 billion to USD 8.0 billion from USD 8.1 billion to USD 8.5 billion.
The company attributed the revision to an inflationary cost environment, subdued residential construction and the earlier-than-expected completion of its Arcosa acquisition. Management also expects adjusted diluted earnings per share of USD 5.37 to USD 5.59 for 2026. The release said the 2027 outlook remains positive across key end markets, supported by infrastructure investment and reindustrialization.
Buyback adds capital-return support
The new authorization allows CRH to repurchase up to USD 6 billion of shares through the end of 2030. CRH said the program is backed by its cash generation and balance sheet and fits within the capital allocation framework announced at its 2025 investor day. The company also introduced its Velocity operating model, targeting USD 400 million in annual run-rate benefits by the end of 2028.
CRH stock traded at 81.21 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 09:30 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026.
