- Third-quarter revenue increased 3% year over year, while adjusted EBITDA was flat and margins narrowed.
- CRH lowered its 2026 net income and adjusted EBITDA ranges after cost inflation and weaker residential activity.
- The Arcosa acquisition is complete, and a new buyback program runs through the end of 2030.
CRH lowered its 2026 outlook on Thursday, October 29, after higher costs and subdued residential activity offset pricing, acquisitions and demand in infrastructure markets. The building-materials group also authorized a new share buyback of up to 6 billion US dollars through the end of 2030.
CRH stock traded at 81.49 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 14:18 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026. That was 6.36% above the 76.62 euro quote cited in the October 29 report, a separate comparison from the daily Xetra performance.
Guidance reset follows mixed quarter
In its Q3 results announcement, CRH said third-quarter revenue rose 3% year over year to 11.4 billion US dollars. Adjusted EBITDA was 2.7 billion US dollars, broadly unchanged from the prior-year quarter, while the adjusted EBITDA margin fell to 23.5% from 24.3%.
Net income declined 22% to 1.2 billion US dollars. The company attributed the pressure to cost inflation, subdued residential activity, divestitures and a 178 million US dollar impairment loss linked to its Philippines reporting unit.
CRH now expects 2026 net income of 3.1 billion to 3.3 billion US dollars and adjusted EBITDA of 7.8 billion to 8.0 billion US dollars. The previous ranges were 3.9 billion to 4.1 billion US dollars and 8.1 billion to 8.5 billion US dollars, respectively. The updated outlook includes the Arcosa acquisition and expected fourth-quarter transformation costs.
Arcosa expands infrastructure exposure
CRH completed its 8.5 billion US dollar Arcosa acquisition on October 23. Management said the deal strengthens its position in US aggregates and critical infrastructure, including markets tied to grid modernization and data-center construction.
The company also introduced Velocity, a transformation program expected to generate annual run-rate benefits of approximately 400 million US dollars by the end of 2028. CRH said the program will simplify structures, improve process technology and support faster execution, although it expects total non-routine costs of about 400 million US dollars.
Infrastructure investment and reindustrialization remain central to the company's positive 2027 outlook, while residential demand is expected to stay weak in the near term. Investors will therefore weigh the buyback and Arcosa's growth contribution against margin pressure, higher financing needs and the revised earnings outlook.
