- Third-quarter revenue increased 3 percent year over year, while net income declined 22 percent.
- CRH lowered its 2026 net income and adjusted EBITDA outlook amid cost pressure and subdued residential activity.
- The Arcosa acquisition was completed, and the company launched the Velocity program to target structurally higher margins.
CRH reported resilient third-quarter 2026 revenue but lowered its full-year outlook on October 29 as cost pressure and subdued residential activity weighed on profitability. The building materials group also authorized a new share buyback program of up to 6 billion US dollars through the end of 2030.
The company announced the results in its quarterly results release. Revenue rose 3 percent from the year-earlier period to 11.4 billion US dollars, supported by pricing, resilient underlying demand and acquisitions. Net income fell 22 percent to 1.2 billion US dollars, primarily because of impairment losses.
Revenue growth meets margin pressure
Adjusted EBITDA was 2.7 billion US dollars, broadly in line with the prior-year quarter. The adjusted EBITDA margin declined to 23.5 percent from 24.3 percent, while the net income margin fell to 10.4 percent from 13.7 percent. Diluted earnings per share decreased to 1.86 US dollars, and adjusted diluted earnings per share before impairments fell 8 percent to 2.09 US dollars.
For the first nine months, revenue increased 5 percent to 29.5 billion US dollars. Net income declined 9 percent to 2.5 billion US dollars, while adjusted EBITDA increased 4 percent to 5.9 billion US dollars. The figures show that acquisitions and pricing supported growth, but did not fully offset inflation and weaker residential demand.
Guidance reset and capital allocation
CRH now expects 2026 net income of 3.1 billion to 3.3 billion US dollars and adjusted EBITDA of 7.8 billion to 8.0 billion US dollars. The company cited a challenging and volatile inflationary cost environment, subdued residential activity and the effects of divestitures. The updated outlook is below the previous ranges.
Chief Executive Jim Mintern said the group delivered a resilient quarter and pointed to disciplined commercial execution, performance initiatives and positive demand in key end-markets. He also said the buyback reflects CRH's cash-generation capacity and balance sheet strength.
CRH completed its 8.5 billion US dollar Arcosa acquisition during the quarter, strengthening its North American aggregates and critical infrastructure position. It also introduced the Velocity program, which is intended to simplify the operating model, improve the use of technology and data, and generate annual run-rate benefits of 400 million US dollars by the end of 2028.
The real-time quote of CRH stock at Lang & Schwarz was 80.88 euros on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 09:30:36 Berlin time.
