Citi cut Allegro stock rating as target rose to PLN 52
Published on 10/08/2026 at 11:23 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSAllegro (ISIN LU2237380790) was trading at EUR 11.42 at Lang & Schwarz on October 8, 2026 at 11:15 a.m. CEST, down 1.55 percent versus the EUR 11.60 prior close. On October 1, 2026, Citi downgraded Allegro from Buy to Neutral but raised its price target from PLN 42 to PLN 52, as Investing.com reported. The message is mixed: operating forecasts improved, while valuation became the reason for the downgrade.
Citi raises target but cuts rating
Citi said Allegro's 63 percent year-to-date gain had left the risk and reward profile broadly balanced. The bank also lifted its active-buyer growth forecasts by 1 percentage point on average and its gross merchandise volume forecasts by 4 percent for 2026 through 2028, according to Investing.com.
Citi forecast Allegro revenue of PLN 13.67 billion in 2026 and PLN 17.98 billion in 2028. Its adjusted EBITDA forecast rose from PLN 4.07 billion to PLN 5.27 billion over the same period, although the bank said much of the expected growth was already reflected in the share price.
Second-quarter growth sets the benchmark
Allegro reported second-quarter 2026 group gross merchandise volume growth of 14.4 percent year over year to PLN 19.60 billion. Revenue increased 16.1 percent to PLN 3.34 billion and adjusted EBITDA rose 11.5 percent to PLN 1.03 billion, according to Investing.com. International gross merchandise volume climbed 82.4 percent to PLN 1.06 billion, but the segment still posted an adjusted EBITDA loss of PLN 122.8 million.
The company raised its 2026 group guidance to 13 percent to 15 percent gross merchandise volume growth and 13 percent to 17 percent adjusted EBITDA growth. That contrast explains the market debate: faster expansion supports higher earnings estimates, while the Neutral rating points to less valuation room after the rally.
