Ceridian stock ended its public-market chapter when the company now known as Dayforce completed a USD 12.3 billion buyout on February 4, 2026. The transaction paid shareholders USD 70.00 per share and shifted the human-capital software provider into private ownership, according to Multiples VC.

USD 70.00 ended the listing

The deal followed an agreement announced on August 21, 2025, with Thoma Bravo and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority as the financial sponsors. The USD 70.00 cash consideration represented a 32 percent premium to Dayforce's unaffected closing price on August 15, 2025, giving investors a clear final reference point for the former public company.

Ceridian had rebranded as Dayforce before the transaction. Public market data now belongs to the company's history: the former ticker was DAY, while the business continues under the Dayforce name after its delisting in January 2026, according to Market.us.

Dayforce keeps expanding its platform

The operating business remains active. Dayforce's official website says the platform is trusted by 7 million users worldwide and supports global payroll in more than 200 countries. Its product set spans HR, payroll, time management, talent, planning, analytics and on-demand pay, according to Dayforce.

That private-market transition has not stopped external recognition. A September 17, 2026 announcement said Dayforce was named a Leader in Gartner's inaugural Magic Quadrant for Workforce Management Technology, with the company positioned highest for Ability to Execute, according to GlobeNewswire.

The public-market reference is USD 70.00

For former Ceridian shareholders, the decisive figure is the USD 70.00 cash payment completed in February 2026. The comparison with the August 15, 2025 unaffected price shows why the transaction set a defined exit value, while the continuing 7 million-user platform supplies the operating context for the company after the listing ended.
