Published on 10/04/2026 at 22:49 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSCentury Casinos stock (ISIN US1564921005) is tied to a USD 16.4 million sale of two Alberta gaming operations, a transaction designed to reduce rent and debt. PR Newswire reported on September 28, 2026, that Century Casinos agreed to sell Century Mile and Century Downs to Highfield Investment Group. The deal shifts the company toward its US casino portfolio while addressing its lease burden.
Alberta sale targets rent and debt
The purchase price represents a 6.1x multiple of fiscal year 2025 EBITDA, according to PR Newswire. Century Casinos owns 100 percent of Century Mile and 75 percent of Century Downs, while the remaining 25 percent of Century Downs belongs to noncontrolling partners.
Removing the properties from the master lease is expected to reduce annual rent by USD 7.5 million. The company said the sale proceeds will be used to reduce indebtedness, while closing is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions.
Revenue rises as losses remain
Century Casinos generated record second-quarter 2026 net operating revenue of USD 151.995 million, up 1 percent from USD 150.82 million in the same quarter of 2025. Adjusted EBITDAR increased 5 percent to USD 31.660 million, while earnings from operations rose 4 percent to USD 17.180 million, according to StockTitan.
The company still posted a USD 10.910 million net loss attributable to shareholders for the quarter, although that was narrower than the USD 12.309 million loss a year earlier. North America led operating performance, with adjusted EBITDAR in the US West segment increasing 93 percent, while Poland adjusted EBITDAR declined 97 percent.
Analyst target remains above market value
Markets Insider reported on September 30, 2026, that Craig-Hallum maintained a Buy rating on Century Casinos. The same report cited a Moderate Buy analyst consensus and an average price target of USD 2.50.
Market value remains small
Century Casinos had a market capitalization of USD 29.3 million as of October 2, 2026. The figure puts the Alberta transaction at more than half of the companys equity value, while the planned rent reduction gives the sale a direct balance-sheet significance.
