Cellnex published its results for the first nine months of 2026 on Thursday, November 5, showing stronger cash generation, improved operating efficiency and a new investment plan in Poland. The company’s results release said free cash flow more than doubled year on year, while management kept its 2026 guidance.

Cellnex stock traded at 26.82 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:40 CET on Friday, November 6. The valid intraday quote provides the current market reference, while the latest results give investors the main fundamental focus after the company’s report.

Cash generation strengthens the investment case

Revenue excluding pass-through costs rose 2.4 percent to 3.008 billion euros in the first nine months, compared with 2.937 billion euros a year earlier. On an organic comparable basis, revenue increased 4.9 percent, supported by inflation protection and customer demand. Tower revenue reached 2.456 billion euros and grew 5.1 percent organically.

Adjusted EBITDA increased 6.5 percent on an organic comparable basis, while EBITDAaL grew 8.9 percent. The adjusted EBITDA margin widened to 84.8 percent from 83.1 percent. Cellnex also reduced comparable operating costs by 4.4 percent despite managing about 2,900 additional towers, bringing the cost per tower down 3.5 percent year on year.

Lower investment intensity supported the cash result. Capital expenditure fell 22 percent to 860 million euros from 1.114 billion euros, helping free cash flow reach 474 million euros against 186 million euros in the comparable period of 2025. Recurring levered free cash flow rose 11.2 percent organically to 1.390 billion euros, while recurring levered free cash flow per share increased 18.3 percent to 2.09 euros.

Poland adds near-term capital needs

Cellnex agreed with Polkomtel to expand infrastructure sharing in Poland through new co-locations, site relocations and network rationalisation. The plan includes about 3,200 new co-locations by 2030 and a further 2,000 committed after 2030, alongside the relocation of about 4,200 antennas and the removal of redundant sites.

The project requires 500 million euros of additional capital expenditure between 2026 and 2030. Cellnex said the investment should raise the occupancy ratio above 2x by 2035 and generate a double-digit unlevered after-tax internal rate of return. The company expects the Polish programme and accelerated Build-to-Suit deployments for Play to reduce comparable 2027 free cash flow by 300 million euros, although it maintained its broader 2027 targets.

Chief Executive Marco Patuano said the strategy is to combine new co-locations with network rationalisation to improve asset returns and cash conversion. That approach increases near-term investment but is intended to strengthen recurring revenue, EBITDAaL and free cash flow as the programme progresses.

Leverage remains a central watchpoint

Net debt stood at 21.044 billion euros on September 30, up from 20.818 billion euros at the end of 2025. Growth in adjusted EBITDA nevertheless reduced net debt to adjusted EBITDA to 6.13 times from 6.28 times a year earlier. Cellnex retained its goal of reaching leverage between 5 and 6 times in 2027, while available liquidity stood at about 5 billion euros.

The company reiterated its 2026 guidance for revenue excluding pass-through costs of 4.075 billion to 4.175 billion euros, adjusted EBITDA of 3.425 billion to 3.525 billion euros and free cash flow of 600 million to 700 million euros. It also maintained its 2026 shareholder-remuneration target of 1 billion euros, split between dividends and share repurchases.
