- Third-quarter sales growth slowed as Boston Scientific reported lower GAAP earnings and adjusted EPS.
- Management expects fourth-quarter sales to decline and adjusted EPS to remain below the third-quarter result.
- New device clearances, clinical-trial enrollment and an AI collaboration support the longer-term pipeline.
Boston Scientific reported slower growth for the third quarter on October 28, while its updated outlook points to a sales decline in the final quarter of 2026. The company cited its response to an August cybersecurity incident and continued investment in its product pipeline as important factors for the period ahead.
Boston Scientific stock traded at 38.92 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 16:04 CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. That was 3.50 percent below the 40.33-euro quote in the previous company report dated October 27, a separate comparison from any Xetra daily performance.
Third-quarter growth slowed
Boston Scientific generated third-quarter net sales of 5.138 billion US dollars, up 1.5 percent from the prior-year period on a reported, operational and organic basis. MedSurg organic sales increased 0.7 percent, while Cardiovascular organic sales rose 1.9 percent.
GAAP net income attributable to common stockholders fell to 582 million US dollars from 755 million US dollars a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share declined to 0.73 US dollars from 0.75 US dollars. The company said it had commenced enrollment in the Elite AF trial for the next-generation WATCHMAN Elite device and received US clearances for technologies in its StoneSmart ecosystem and for an expanded SEISMIQ catheter offering.
Fourth-quarter pressure remains
Management expects fourth-quarter reported and organic sales to decline by 1.0 to 3.0 percent from the year-earlier quarter. Adjusted earnings per share are expected at 0.77 to 0.79 US dollars. For the full year, Boston Scientific now projects reported sales growth of approximately 4.25 percent, organic growth of approximately 3.75 percent and adjusted earnings per share of 3.16 to 3.18 US dollars.
The company also entered a strategic collaboration with Heartflow to advance AI-supported CT planning for percutaneous coronary intervention. Investors will weigh whether new product activity can offset the near-term pressure reflected in the fourth-quarter guidance.
Boston Scientific stock remains part of the broader US equity market tracked through the S&P 500.
