The figures give investors a clearer read on how stronger trading activity is translating into results.
Revenue growth meets investment
According to Yahoo Finance on July 22, 2026, second-quarter revenue increased by MXN 91 million, or 8 percent, with all business lines contributing positively. Operating expenses rose 13 percent as the group continued to invest in its strategic transformation.
The earnings mix was therefore more restrained than the top line. Second-quarter EPS increased 3 percent year over year to MXN 0.74, while management said the tax rate rose from 31 percent to 31.6 percent.
Trading activity supports the outlook
The operating backdrop was strongest in market-linked businesses. Average daily equity trading value reached MXN 21.5 billion in the quarter, up more than 20 percent from 2025, while BMV's equity market share rose from 78 percent in the first quarter to 82 percent in the second quarter, according to Yahoo Finance.
First-half EBITDA reached MXN 1.3 billion, up 5 percent, with an EBITDA margin of 56 percent. The company also reported first-half EPS of MXN 1.53, an increase of 2.3 percent year over year, although lower returns on cash investments reduced financial income by MXN 37 million.
Digital platform sets the next milestone
Management is directing capital toward the Digital Evolution program, with the first technology wave focused on derivatives trading and clearing. The company said the platform is on track to go live in the first quarter of 2027, with revenue contribution expected from the second quarter of 2027.
The investment phase remains visible in the cost base. BMV reported MXN 120 million of capital expenditure in the first half and said MXN 250 million was already committed for the second half, against a full-year budget of MXN 500 million.
