- Brokerages raised or maintained positive views after Bharat Electronics' analyst call.
- Management kept its FY27 growth and margin outlook unchanged.
- Delayed large defence awards remain the main execution risk.
Brokerage views on Bharat Electronics shifted higher on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, after the company discussed its September-quarter performance and outlook with analysts. The Economic Times reported that Motilal Oswal raised its target for the defence electronics company to INR 540 from INR 530, while Elara Capital upgraded its rating to Buy from Accumulate.
Analysts focus on order visibility
The broker actions followed Bharat Electronics' analyst call on Tuesday, while the quarterly results had been released the previous week. Management reiterated its FY27 outlook for revenue growth of 15%, an EBITDA margin of 28% and order inflows above INR 55,000 crore, including the QRSAM programme.
Elara Capital set a target of INR 465 and cited healthy sales growth, potential margin expansion and prospective order inflows. The brokerage nevertheless reduced its earlier target of INR 480 after lowering its valuation multiple. Jefferies retained a target of INR 490, while other brokerages also kept positive ratings and highlighted the company's order pipeline.
Large programmes remain key catalysts
Bharat Electronics plans to spend more than INR 2,200 crore on research and development and INR 1,200 crore on capital expenditure during the fiscal year. The company expects its business mix to remain about 90% defence and 10% non-defence.
The Economic Times said the order book stood at about INR 68,700 crore on October 1, 2026, with roughly 90% linked to defence programmes. The pipeline includes electronic fuzes, aircraft and radar systems, electronic warfare equipment and export business. Motilal Oswal expects these projects to support revenue in the second half of FY27.
Execution timing remains the risk
The QRSAM programme, with a potential order size of INR 30,000 crore, has been delayed, according to the report. Delays in defence procurement and weaker order inflows could affect revenue, margins and cash generation even as the current backlog provides execution visibility.
Bharat Electronics operates in a sector where government approvals and programme awards can alter the timing of reported growth. Investors will therefore track the conversion of major opportunities, including QRSAM and naval electronics, alongside delivery against the reiterated FY27 targets.
