Grupo Financiero Banorte reported stronger third-quarter results on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, as lending, fees and deposit growth supported profitability. The figures were presented during the company's results call and summarized by Quartr.
Net income reached 15.66 billion Mexican pesos, up 20 percent from the comparable quarter. For the first nine months, net income rose 9 percent to 46.67 billion pesos. Return on equity for the nine-month period improved to 24.7 percent, while the non-performing loan ratio stood at 1.4 percent.
Loan growth supports the outlook
Stage 1 and 2 loans increased 11 percent year over year. Deposits rose 13 percent, helping Banorte fund expansion while maintaining a focus on funding costs. Net service fees grew 14 percent in the quarter, and net interest income increased 5 percent to 38.13 billion pesos, according to the Quartr summary.
Management maintained its full-year 2026 guidance. The framework calls for loan growth of 8 to 11 percent, group net interest margin of 6.2 to 6.5 percent, net income of 62 to 64 billion pesos, return on equity of 22 to 24 percent and return on assets of 2.2 to 2.4 percent.
The earnings call also highlighted pressure from inflation-linked securities in the annuities business and higher provisions connected with loan origination. Management said the underlying credit picture remained sound. The group expects the cost of risk to remain within its annual guidance, while the bank's capital adequacy ratio reached 22.5 percent.
Capital returns remain in focus
Banorte's management said the group's capital generation could support an extraordinary dividend. A shareholders' meeting was being called to seek approval for a distribution equivalent to about 4.18 pesos per share, which would lift the total payout ratio to 70 percent if approved.
