Baker Hughes reported a stronger third quarter on October 27, with broad demand across energy and industrial markets. The company's third-quarter results release showed rising revenue and a record IET remaining-performance-obligation balance.

Orders strengthen the forward view

Revenue reached USD 8.025 billion in the quarter ended September 30, 2026, up 14 percent from a year earlier. Total orders rose 31 percent to USD 10.764 billion, while Industrial and Energy Technology orders increased 42 percent year over year to USD 5.886 billion.

IET's remaining performance obligations reached a record USD 39.4 billion. Baker Hughes cited demand from data centers, space, LNG and gas infrastructure, and raised its full-year IET order guidance. The company also lifted its Horizon 2 outlook for 2026 through 2028 to more than USD 50 billion in IET orders.

Chart expands the industrial portfolio

The quarter included the first reported contribution from Chart Industries after Baker Hughes completed the all-cash acquisition on July 16. Chart generated USD 888 million in revenue and USD 831 million in orders during the period covered by the release, adding cryogenic, thermal-management and industrial-gas capabilities to the group.

The acquisition also changed the financial profile. Long-term debt stood at USD 17.476 billion at September 30, compared with USD 5.398 billion at the end of 2025. Management said integration actions were progressing, but investors will continue to watch the conversion of the enlarged backlog into revenue and cash flow.
