- Baker Hughes reported 10.8 billion US dollars in third-quarter orders, including 5.9 billion US dollars in IET orders.
- Record IET remaining performance obligations improve visibility, while the completed Chart acquisition expands the portfolio.
- Investors will focus on converting the order backlog into revenue and managing higher leverage after the acquisition.
Baker Hughes reported strong third-quarter order momentum on October 27, 2026, as Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) orders reached 5.9 billion US dollars. The company also raised its full-year IET order guidance and its 2026-2028 Horizon 2 outlook to more than 50 billion US dollars, according to the Baker Hughes earnings release.
Record orders expand visibility
Total orders rose to 10.8 billion US dollars in the quarter. IET orders increased 42 percent from a year earlier to 5.886 billion US dollars, supported by demand for gas infrastructure, LNG equipment, power generation and industrial technology.
Remaining performance obligations reached 46.4 billion US dollars at quarter-end, including a record 39.4 billion US dollars in IET. That backlog gives Baker Hughes greater visibility into future revenue, although delivery timing remains important for the conversion of orders into sales and cash flow.
Chart adds scale and execution risk
Baker Hughes completed its all-cash acquisition of Chart Industries on July 16, 2026. Chart contributed 831 million US dollars in orders, 888 million US dollars in revenue and 156 million US dollars in segment EBITDA for the period since closing through September 30.
The acquisition broadens Baker Hughes' exposure to cryogenic equipment, thermal management and industrial markets. It also increased financial leverage, leaving investors to weigh the larger opportunity against integration, financing and execution requirements.
