Bajaj Finance reported a 29 percent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to 6,367 crore INR for the July-to-September quarter of FY27, according to a Business Standard report published on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Net interest income increased 24 percent year on year to 13,335 crore INR, while net total income rose 23 percent to 15,974 crore INR. Assets under management reached 5.85 trillion INR as of September 30, after the lender added 37,680 crore INR during the quarter.

Loan growth remains central

Bajaj Finance booked 13.45 million new loans in the quarter, an 11 percent increase from a year earlier. The company added 4.42 million customers, taking its total customer franchise to 128.85 million.

For FY27, management expects to book 60 million to 62 million new loans and add 18 million to 20 million customers. The lender also plans to expand its gold-loan network, which reached 2,022 branches at the end of the quarter.

Asset quality and funding

Loan losses and provisions rose 4 percent year on year to 2,166 crore INR, including a 337 crore INR management and macroeconomic provision. Excluding that provision, loan losses and provisions declined 12 percent to 1,829 crore INR.

Gross non-performing assets fell to 1.06 percent from 1.24 percent a year earlier, while net non-performing assets declined to 0.42 percent from 0.60 percent. The figures point to improved reported asset quality, although the additional provision remains relevant when assessing quarterly earnings.

The board approved, subject to shareholder approval, a proposed capital raise of up to 11,700 crore INR through a qualified institutional placement and up to 5,800 crore INR through warrants convertible into equity shares for Bajaj Finserv. The proceeds are intended to support growth and strengthen resilience across the business.
