Fourth-quarter targets stay ambitious
Management guided for fourth-quarter revenue of 2.365 billion to 2.395 billion US dollars. The range implies year-over-year growth of roughly 43 percent to 44 percent and sequential growth of 8 percent to 10 percent. Adjusted EBITDA is expected between 1.995 billion and 2.025 billion US dollars, with a margin of 84 percent to 85 percent.
The guidance follows a quarter in which revenue exceeded the high end of management's previous outlook. AppLovin said model improvements supported its core mobile gaming business, while the consumer advertising vertical continued to scale. The outlook also includes further model improvements and investment in training compute, leaving execution and the pace of customer growth as key issues for investors.
Cash flow supports capital returns
Free cash flow reached 1.4 billion US dollars in the third quarter. The company repurchased or withheld 4.1 million Class A shares for 1.4 billion US dollars during the period, and the board increased the current share repurchase authorization to 3.6 billion US dollars at the end of October.
The authorization can support future buybacks, but actual repurchases will depend on market conditions, legal requirements and AppLovin's capital-allocation priorities. For investors, the combination of high profitability and substantial cash generation strengthens the financial flexibility behind the program, while the elevated growth expectations keep operating execution central to the valuation.
Broader technology sentiment will remain relevant as investors monitor the S&P 500.
