ANDRITZ reported stronger third-quarter revenue and earnings on October 29, 2026, while its order backlog reached a record high. The Austrian technology group kept its full-year guidance unchanged in its Q3 2026 results release.

Record backlog supports 2026 plans

Third-quarter revenue rose 9.2% year over year to 2,059.6 million euros. Comparable EBITA increased 10.3% to 184.9 million euros, lifting the comparable EBITA margin to 9.0% from 8.9% a year earlier. Net income, including non-controlling interests, advanced 14.4% to 127.3 million euros.

Order intake reached 2,166.2 million euros, slightly below the prior-year quarter but above two billion euros for the eighth consecutive quarter. The order backlog stood at 12,729.1 million euros on September 30, up 21.7% from the end of 2025 and a record for the company.

Hydropower provided the strongest growth impulse. Its order intake increased 34.2% to 703.9 million euros, while revenue rose 25.4%. Metals order intake gained 20.8% to 357.4 million euros. Pulp & Paper order intake fell 24.5% to 706.8 million euros against an unusually strong comparison quarter, although revenue in the division still increased 8.8%.

Guidance remains unchanged

ANDRITZ continues to expect 2026 revenue between 8.0 billion and 8.3 billion euros and a comparable EBITA margin between 8.7% and 9.1%. The company said project activity should remain at a high level. Chief Executive Joachim Schönbeck said management would focus on converting the strong backlog into profitable growth.

The group also reiterated medium-term ambitions presented at its October 2026 Capital Markets Day: revenue of 10 billion euros and a comparable EBITA margin of 10% by 2029. For investors, the key execution issue is now the conversion of the record backlog into revenue and earnings while maintaining margins across the divisions.
