Revenue And Profit Gain Momentum
Third-quarter revenue rose 9.2 percent to 2,059.6 million euros from 1,886.9 million euros a year earlier. Comparable EBITA increased 10.3 percent to 184.9 million euros, while the comparable EBITA margin edged up to 9.0 percent from 8.9 percent.
Reported EBITA reached 175.9 million euros, up 10.0 percent year over year. Net income including non-controlling interests climbed 14.4 percent to 127.3 million euros. In the first nine months, revenue increased 6.5 percent to 5,900.9 million euros and net income rose 8.4 percent to 328.3 million euros.
Hydropower Leads Order Growth
Quarterly order intake remained above 2 billion euros for the eighth consecutive quarter, although it slipped 0.6 percent to 2,166.2 million euros from 2,180.0 million euros in the prior-year quarter. Hydropower was the strongest contributor, with order intake rising 34.2 percent to 703.9 million euros. Metals order intake increased 20.8 percent to 357.4 million euros.
Pulp & Paper order intake fell 24.5 percent to 706.8 million euros after an especially strong comparison period. Environment & Energy declined 6.1 percent to 398.1 million euros. The mix shows strong momentum in renewable power and metals, while some businesses face tougher comparisons and more uneven investment conditions.
The order backlog stood at 12,729.1 million euros at September 30, a record for the company and 21.7 percent above the level at the end of 2025. The backlog gives ANDRITZ a substantial base for converting prior orders into revenue, although execution and project profitability remain important for earnings delivery.
Guidance Remains Unchanged
ANDRITZ continues to expect 2026 revenue between 8.0 billion euros and 8.3 billion euros. The company also retained its comparable EBITA margin range of 8.7 percent to 9.1 percent. CEO Joachim Schoenbeck said revenue and earnings had grown significantly in the quarter and that management would focus on turning the strong backlog into profitable growth.
The company also presented medium-term targets at its October 2026 Capital Markets Day, including revenue of 10 billion euros and a comparable EBITA margin of 10 percent by 2029. These targets depend on sustained project activity, disciplined execution and continued demand for the group's industrial technologies.
