AMC completes USD 3.97 billion refinancing and AMC Entertainment stock trades at EUR 2.51
Published on 10/06/2026 at 13:06 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSAMC Entertainment (ISIN US00165C3025) completed a USD 3.97 billion refinancing on October 5, 2026, according to Business Wire. AMC Entertainment stock was trading at EUR 2.51 at Lang & Schwarz on October 6, 2026 at 1:03 p.m. CEST, up 0.80 percent versus the EUR 2.49 prior close.
USD 3.97 billion refinancing closes
The transaction includes USD 2.00 billion of first lien notes due in 2031, a USD 850.00 million first lien term loan and a USD 1.12 billion second lien term loan. AMC said the refinancing covers approximately 97 percent of its debt and extends almost all maturities to October 2031 and October 2033.
The tender offer settled on October 5, 2026, with USD 355.515 million of notes accepted for purchase, representing 98.80 percent of the USD 359.9645 million outstanding. The structure also includes redemption of remaining 2029 notes around February 15, 2027, subject to the terms described in the company release.
Revenue rises before debt reset
AMC reported preliminary consolidated revenue of USD 1.3348 billion for the two months ended August 31, 2026, up 42.20 percent from USD 937.20 million in the same period of 2025, according to its 8-K filing. Attendance increased 35.90 percent to 58.203 million patrons, while total revenue per patron rose 4.80 percent to USD 22.93.
Cash and cash equivalents stood at USD 832.50 million on August 31, 2026, excluding USD 40.90 million of restricted cash. The operating improvement gives AMC more revenue support, but the refinancing still leaves interest costs and leverage central to the equity case.
Citi target stays below the stock
Citi raised its price target for AMC from USD 1.80 to USD 2.20 on September 25, 2026, while keeping a Sell rating, according to Markets Insider. The note cited quarter-to-date revenue above consensus but continued concerns about leverage and long-term box-office pressure.
The contrast is clear: operating figures improved, while the latest cited target remains below the Lang & Schwarz euro quote once currencies are kept separate. AMC therefore enters the next reporting cycle with a longer debt runway and a still demanding balance-sheet test.
