Amsterdam adds local AI capacity
The launch makes the Netherlands Alibaba Cloud's fourth European region after Frankfurt, London and Paris. The company said the Amsterdam infrastructure is designed to support in-region data residency, lower latency and stronger disaster recovery for customers operating in the Netherlands and across Europe.
Adnkronos, carrying the Media OutReach Newswire release, reported that the Amsterdam region offers computing, storage, networking, security, database and cloud-native services. Alibaba Cloud also plans to bring agentic artificial intelligence services to the region.
Partners strengthen the rollout
The release names JetBrains, orq.ai, Monks, Magnific and Idea.ai as companies using or integrating Alibaba Cloud technologies. Their projects include Qwen models, AI coding, hosted model access, marketing workflows and generative media.
Alibaba Cloud also unveiled a new generation of Apsara Stack for hybrid cloud deployments, with more than 80 cloud and AI products. The company plans to establish its first cloud regions in Finland and expand its data-center footprint in Germany and France over the next 12 months.
Alibaba Cloud said the Amsterdam launch expands its global infrastructure to 109 availability zones across 32 regions. The announcement did not provide revenue targets for the new region, leaving customer adoption and monetization as the next key indicators for investors.
Market attention remains linked to the S&P 500 as the relevant benchmark for the US-listed company.
