Airbus stock faces a demanding final stretch after 74 aircraft deliveries in October. The manufacturer must accelerate handovers to meet its unchanged 2026 goal.

Airbus faces a demanding year-end

  • October deliveries increased the pressure on Airbus to execute its full-year plan during the final two months.
  • Strong gross orders support the order pipeline, while engine and supply-chain constraints remain execution risks.
  • Airbus kept its delivery and production targets unchanged in its nine-month update.

Airbus delivered 74 commercial aircraft in October, taking its total for the first ten months of 2026 to 621, according to a report by Yahoo Finance. The figures leave the European planemaker with a demanding year-end delivery schedule as it works toward its full-year target of about 870 aircraft.

Airbus needs to hand over 249 additional aircraft in November and December to reach that goal, implying an average of about 125 aircraft per month. The pace would require a strong fourth quarter and keeps delivery execution at the center of the investment case.

October deliveries raise execution pressure

Single-aisle aircraft accounted for most of the October handovers. Airbus delivered 39 A321neos, 15 A320neos, nine A220-300s and one A319neo, alongside four A330-900s and six A350s. The first ten months included 560 single-aisle aircraft, 17 A330s and 44 A350s.

The delivery tally also highlights the importance of production and supply-chain reliability. The Yahoo Finance report said Airbus has previously cut delivery forecasts because of engine shortages and broader supply-chain problems. Quality issues affecting some A321neo and A330 aircraft were described as contained in the company's nine-month update.

Orders provide support for the backlog

Airbus booked 202 gross commercial orders in October. Avolon and Aviation Capital Group each ordered 75 aircraft, while CIT Leasing ordered 35. Gross orders for the year reached 1,376, with 1,305 net orders after 71 cancellations.

Those orders support the long-term backlog, but they do not remove the near-term delivery challenge. For investors, the key question is whether Airbus can convert its production pipeline into customer handovers during the traditionally stronger final quarter without renewed pressure from engines, quality controls or other suppliers.

Targets remain unchanged after nine months

Airbus said on its investor page that its nine-month 2026 adjusted EBIT reached 4.5 billion euros, while free cash flow before customer financing was negative at 1.3 billion euros. Chief Executive Officer Guillaume Faury said the civil and military ramp-up was supported by strong demand, while the company remained focused on delivery and quality.
