- Agnico Eagle generated strong third-quarter free cash flow while gold production remained below the prior-year level.
- Management expects 2026 production near the lower end of guidance and costs near the upper end.
- The company is advancing projects intended to support long-term production growth.
Agnico Eagle Mines reported strong third-quarter financial results on October 28, 2026, while keeping its full-year production outlook near the lower end of its guidance range. The company said higher realized gold prices supported earnings and free cash flow despite lower production and higher operating costs.
According to the Agnico Eagle, payable gold production reached 814,012 ounces in the quarter. Realized gold prices averaged 4,264 U.S. dollars per ounce, helping the company deliver adjusted net income of 1,324 million U.S. dollars and free cash flow of 852 million U.S. dollars.
Guidance remains intact but weighted
Management expects 2026 gold production near the lower end of the 3.3 million to 3.5 million ounce range. Total cash costs and all-in sustaining costs are expected near the upper ends of their respective guidance ranges of 1,020 to 1,120 U.S. dollars and 1,400 to 1,550 U.S. dollars per ounce.
The outlook reflects the adjusted mine plan at the Barnat open pit at Canadian Malartic after a rock mass movement. Diesel and other input costs are adding pressure, although the company expects both cost measures to remain within their full-year ranges.
Growth projects remain in focus
Agnico Eagle said work continued at Odyssey, Detour Lake, Upper Beaver and Hope Bay. The project pipeline is intended to support a 20% to 30% increase in annual gold production over the next decade, with the potential to exceed 4.0 million ounces in the early 2030s.
The company also said it anticipates returning more than 50% of 2026 free cash flow to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases, subject to operational needs and prevailing gold prices.
