AGL stock gained 2.26 percent as ACO partnerships expanded
Published on 10/05/2026 at 12:49 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSAGL stock gained 2.26 percent to USD 84.14 on the NYSE on October 2, 2026, as the company expanded partnerships with two physician groups through its Senior Health Connect ACOs. Simply Wall St reported in late September 2026 that Jackson Clinic and Springfield Clinic were expanding their relationships with agilon health.
ACO expansion meets a stronger quarter
The partnership expansion extends agilon health's value-based care model into additional physician networks. The strategic question is whether new contracts can support medical margins while the company keeps membership growth disciplined.
In its August 5, 2026 filing, MarketWatch reported that second-quarter revenue rose 7 percent year over year to USD 1.49 billion from USD 1.39 billion. Net income reached USD 18 million, compared with a net loss of USD 104 million in the second quarter of 2025.
Margins now carry the turnaround
The improvement was also visible below revenue. Medical margin reached USD 197 million in the second quarter of 2026, versus negative USD 53 million a year earlier, while adjusted EBITDA improved to USD 70 million from negative USD 83 million, according to MarketWatch.
The company also raised its full-year 2026 guidance to USD 5.775 billion to USD 5.860 billion in revenue, USD 465 million to USD 505 million in medical margin and USD 75 million to USD 95 million in adjusted EBITDA. That outlook makes execution on medical costs more important than headline membership growth.
Bernstein target stays above the market
Analyst expectations moved higher after the operating improvement. Investing.com reported on September 15, 2026 that Bernstein upgraded Agilon Health to Outperform from Market Perform and raised its price target from USD 86 to USD 125. The report also cited a 7 percent medical cost trend assumption for the rest of 2026, compared with 5.8 percent for 2025.
MarketScreener lists an Outperform consensus from 16 analysts with an average target of USD 118.08. That target lies 40.3 percent above the October 2 price of USD 84.14, leaving the market focused on whether improved margins can persist.
AGL stock remains below its yearly high
AGL stock was last at USD 84.14 on the NYSE on October 2, 2026, up USD 1.86 from the prior close of USD 82.28. The USD 7.48 to USD 133.04 52-week range shows that the shares remain well below their yearly high despite the recent earnings improvement.
