Advantest stock traded at 202.20 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 09:21:05 CET on Monday, November 2, 2026. The Japanese semiconductor test-equipment maker is coming off record second-quarter results and a higher full-year forecast, as demand linked to artificial intelligence continues to support orders for advanced testing systems.

Advantest presented its fiscal 2026 second-quarter results on October 28, according to Advantest. Investing.com reported that quarterly sales reached 477.7 billion yen, up 81.7 percent from a year earlier and 30.0 percent from the previous quarter. The figure exceeded the July forecast of 434.5 billion yen.

Record quarter broadens AI exposure

Operating income rose to 266.8 billion yen, lifting the operating margin to 55.9 percent. Net income came to 193.3 billion yen. Advantest attributed the momentum to semiconductor testing for GPUs, custom application-specific chips and CPUs. Management also identified CPU testing as an increasingly important growth driver as high-performance computing becomes more complex.

SoC Test Systems generated 353.3 billion yen in quarterly sales, according to Investing.com. The broader Test Systems segment contributed 436.7 billion yen, while Memory Test Systems brought in 53.4 billion yen. The Americas were the largest regional market with sales of 261.3 billion yen, highlighting the importance of North American AI infrastructure and chip development.

The company expects the semiconductor tester market to remain supply-constrained through calendar 2027, barring geopolitical or macroeconomic disruption. Advantest is expanding production capacity to meet demand, while management cautioned that component inflation, particularly for memory products, could pressure margins. The second-half operating margin is nevertheless expected to remain above 50 percent.

Higher forecast and shareholder returns

Advantest raised its FY2026 sales forecast to 1.863 trillion yen from 1.714 trillion yen previously. Operating income is now projected at 967.0 billion yen, compared with 846.0 billion yen before, while net income is expected to reach 741.5 billion yen versus 660.0 billion yen. The projected operating margin increased to 51.9 percent from 49.4 percent.

The revised outlook gives investors stronger earnings visibility, but it also increases the importance of sustained AI investment and successful capacity expansion. Any slowdown in AI-related capital spending, supply-chain disruption or further component-cost pressure could challenge the assumptions behind the forecast.

Advantest also set an interim dividend of 49 yen per share for fiscal 2026, compared with 29 yen a year earlier, and authorized a buyback of up to 11 million shares for as much as 280 billion yen. The repurchase period runs from October 29, 2026, to March 24, 2027.
