- Adani Ports handled 51 million metric tonnes of cargo in October, up 27% from a year earlier.
- Dry cargo led the monthly increase, while logistics rail volumes improved year over year but remained lower on a cumulative basis.
- The update adds a fresh operating indicator after the company raised its FY27 outlook following strong second-quarter growth.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited handled 51 million metric tonnes of cargo in October 2026, according to HDFC Sky. The monthly volume increased 27 percent from October 2025, giving investors a new operating indicator after the company reported strong second-quarter growth.
Dry cargo drives monthly growth
Dry cargo volume rose 36 percent year over year in October. Container and liquid cargo volumes each increased 21 percent, while domestic port cargo grew 18 percent.
From April through October in fiscal 2027, APSEZ handled 331 million metric tonnes of cargo, up 16 percent from the comparable period. Dry cargo increased 18 percent over that period, and container cargo rose 16 percent.
Rail volumes improve but lag year to date
Logistics rail volume reached 62,653 twenty-foot equivalent units in October, compared with 62,302 in September and 4 percent above October 2025. The cumulative April-to-October figure was 375,416 TEUs, down 10 percent from the same period a year earlier.
The mixed logistics picture matters for investors: port throughput accelerated across the main cargo categories, while rail activity has not yet recovered on a cumulative basis. The monthly data therefore support a stronger view of port demand without removing the need to watch the wider logistics network.
Guidance remains the wider backdrop
APSEZ's investor-relations page identifies Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited as listed on the BSE and NSE under the tickers 532921 and ADANIPORTS. The company reported on October 28 that second-quarter revenue rose 24 percent year over year to INR 11,340 crore and raised its FY27 revenue guidance to INR 44,000 crore to INR 46,000 crore.
