HUBER+SUHNER to expand rail communications offering by acquiring Motion Applied’s Connected Intelligence business

Ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 LR - 25.09.2026 With the acquisition, the company will broaden its capabilities to include software, marking a significant step towards offering integrated transportation connectivity systems. :HUBER+SUHNER has signed an agreement to acquire the Connected Intelligence business from Motion Applied Limited, a UK-based provider of connectivity solutions for mobile environments. The closing of the transaction is subject to applicable conditions and regulatory approvals. The acquisition is consistent with HUBER+SUHNER’s strategy to invest in growth in attractive, technology-driven markets. The addition of Connected Intelligence – which is known for its motorsport-inspired Fleet Connect platform – will strengthen the company’s Rail Communications growth initiative by adding software to the existing offering of hardware such as rail antennas, ethernet and coaxial cable assemblies, as well as switches for on-board and train-to-ground communication. This will enable HUBER+SUHNER to provide customers with end-to-end solutions for next-generation rail communications from a single source. In recent years, HUBER+SUHNER and Connected Intelligence have already successfully collaborated on customer projects for rail operators such as Deutsche Bahn in Germany, Brightline and Amtrak in the US, as well as Avanti West Coast, Network Rail and c2c in the UK. Connected Intelligence, based in Woking, UK, has around 45 employees. Following the closing of the transaction, the business will be carved out of Motion Applied and integrated into the Transportation segment of HUBER+SUHNER.
