Bharat Electronics reported a stronger-than-expected second quarter on Friday, October 30, 2026, with standalone profit after tax rising 19.8 percent year on year to INR 1,541 crore. Revenue from operations increased 26.5 percent to INR 7,291 crore, according to CNBC-TV18.

Profit and revenue beat estimates

The result exceeded the CNBC-TV18 poll, which had forecast profit after tax of INR 1,380 crore and revenue of INR 6,618 crore. Operating profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation rose 20.4 percent to INR 2,040 crore, also above the poll estimate of INR 1,820 crore.

Operating EBITDA margin declined to 28 percent from 29.4 percent a year earlier, a contraction of 140 basis points. It nevertheless exceeded the 27.5 percent margin expected in the poll, leaving execution and product mix important indicators for the second half.

Order book supports future execution

Bharat Electronics' order book stood at INR 68,717 crore as of October 1, 2026. The backlog gives the defence electronics manufacturer a substantial base for future deliveries, while investors are likely to track the pace of conversion into revenue and the effect of product mix on margins.

For the first half of fiscal 2027, standalone operational revenue rose 25.97 percent to INR 12,824 crore. Standalone profit after tax increased 14.81 percent to INR 2,589 crore from INR 2,255 crore in the comparable period.

The company also said its review of existing contracts and agreements with Israel-based entities found no material financial impact from the regional conflicts as of the reporting date. The company share ended marginally lower in Friday's session, according to the report, without the result itself establishing a specific cause for that move.
