CUSTOMERS
Over the course of 2011, Varicent extended its reach throughout the world, with new customer acquisitions from many industry sectors including insurance, banking, retail, telecom and technology. Furthermore, the continued success of Varicent Business Edition reflected the widespread demand for Sales Performance Management solutions for small and medium sized enterprises. Some of the customers announced in 2011 included Ainsworth Inc., Quantum Corp., SugarCRM, Phonak, Reliance Standard Life Insurance, Silverpop, Tribune, Casual Male Retail Group, Inc., Maritz, mBlox, AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah and Ventana Medical Systems, Inc.
?The year ended with a flourish culminating in a fantastic quarter,? said Marc Altshuller, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Field Operations. ?This was the largest quarter in the history of Varicent for customer add-ons, second best quarter for new contracts, and the third best quarter for new customers in our company?s history. In addition, we are particularly happy to see growth in our international markets highlighted by new customers in the UK, Spain, Germany and Mexico.?
LEADERSHIP
Varicent welcomed Donna de Winter to the Management Team as Chief Financial Officer. De Winter assumed responsibility for all areas of finance, accounting, infrastructure and human resources. Varicent?s leadership team was further extended to include Beth Carroll, previously Director of Global Services at Varicent, who assumed the new role of Vice President, Customer Success. Mike Meisenheimer, an expert in sales compensation and sales operations, also joined Varicent as Director of Industry Solutions.
?The extension of our senior leadership team bolsters our thought leadership and industry expertise which enables our customers to realize the greatest possible return on their investment in our solution,? continued Shimmerman.
REVENUE
In 2011, Varicent?s recurring revenue stream grew by 42% and sales revenue increased by nearly 40% for the comparative period of July 1 ? December 31 the year prior. In the last half of 2011, 20 new customers were added to Varicent?s base. Furthermore, Varicent completed notable go-lives in several industry segments including hospitality, medical devices, retail, insurance and financial services.
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
2011 marked the launch of the Varicent Foundation, which is devoted to philanthropic efforts involving children, their education and technology enablement. Through the foundation, Varicent has rolled out a volunteer day program whereby each employee may take one paid day per year to devote their time to the philanthropy of their choice. The Foundation is Varicent?s vehicle to engage employees in meaningful community work and to support those causes that are aligned with its mission.
