Endeca Technologies, Inc., a search applications company, today announced that it has been named one of the top 100 companies in the digital content industry by EContent magazine This award is Endeca?s latest accolade among several other corporate, technology, and leadership achievements during the past 12 months.

Endeca Technologies, Inc., a search applications company, today announced that it has been named one of the top 100 companies in the digital content industry by EContent magazine. This award is Endeca?s latest accolade among several other corporate, technology, and leadership achievements during the past 12 months. Endeca was recognized by EContent for developing search applications that allow customers to offer their customers and employees clear visibility into any information, driving up to hundreds of millions of dollars in measurable cost savings and increased revenue.

In selecting Endeca for the 2009 EContent 100 list of companies that matter most in the digital content industry, the panel of judges noted that the company?s innovative products caught their attention, set the stage for innovation, and made a lasting impact on the marketplace this year. ?Every year, the EContent 100 recognizes outstanding companies that have demonstrated winning strategies and solutions in the digital content industry,? said Michelle Manafy, EContent?s editor. ?We selected Endeca for its thought leadership in driving the search market forward, and for its strong reputation for innovation in the marketplace.?

Endeca?s product innovation is underscored by the launch of the McKinley release of the Endeca Information Access Platform in March of this year. McKinley, which boasts a re-engineered engine that capitalizes on multi-core processors from chipmakers such as Intel, replaces traditional search engines that make building search applications too costly or difficult. By complementing traditional enterprise applications, McKinley lets users search, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of diverse and changing data from across the enterprise.

The Endeca Publishing Suite, built on the McKinley release, allows publishers to create and sustain differentiated online experiences by giving site owners fine-grained control over page layout, search tuning, navigation options, and content promotions without relying on IT staff. The result is an experience that engages visitors and draws them deeper into content, increasing page views, advertising revenue, and subscription sales. Today, some of the largest media companies in the world ? including Discovery Communications, The New York Times, and Scripps Networks ? are using Endeca?s technology to create operational efficiencies and competitive advantage.

?Endeca?s success to date has been largely due to the broad applicability of our technology and its unique ability to easily integrate with current infrastructure, while addressing problems that legacy search, database, and business intelligence technologies have failed to solve,? said John Andrews, vice president, solutions marketing & product management at Endeca. ?Endeca?s continued growth, along with this recognition by EContent, is a clear indicator of the value our technology delivers and its importance to our clients? top and bottom lines.?

This recognition adds to Endeca?s growing list of achievements throughout the past year, including being chosen by AlwaysOn as an East 100 Top Private Company and KMWorld Magazine naming the Endeca Information Access Platform as a ?Trend-Setting Product of the Year for 2009.?

The EContent 100 list will be published in the December 2009 issue of the magazine and available online at www.econtentmag.com.
