Washington, DC – General Martin E. Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff will address city leaders during the National League of Cities' (NLC) 2013 Congressional City Conference on Monday, March 11 in Washington, DC.

General Dempsey will discuss the important role city officials can have in initiating and moving forward holistic, community-based efforts to help reintegrate the men and women of the armed services as they return home. The issue is particularly timely as more than one million men and women are returning home during challenging fiscal times that require all public resources are used as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Fully open to the press, the Congressional City Conference is the annual legislative meeting of the National League of Cities, designed to inform city leaders about federal policy issues, while providing an opportunity for city leaders to bring local concerns to their congressional delegations, the Administration, and federal agency leadership in Washington, DC.
