Honorable - Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa Headlines Speaker Lineup at ICSC RetailGreen Conference

The Honorable Antonio Villaraigosa, mayor of the City of Los Angeles, has been added to an already impressive speaker lineup at the International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. (ICSC) RetailGreen Conference. The conference and trade exposition runs from October 14-16, 2009 at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel & Spa, Hollywood, California. Mayor Villaraigosa, an advocate for sustainability practices, launched the GREEN LA program in an effort to make Los Angeles one of the ?greenest? big cities in the country. The city has already, four years ahead of schedule, met Kyoto targets for reducing greenhouse gasses. Additionally, the program has taken over 2,000 dirty diesel trucks off the road, met its first target of getting 10% of the city?s energy from renewable sources, and put in place one of the most aggressive green building programs of any major city. The mayor will discuss, amongst other things, the importance of sustainability especially as it pertains to retail real estate.
