Merck KGaA decided, after analysis of data from Phase III clinical trials
of Sarizotan in advanced Parkinson's disease patients suffering from
dyskinesia, not to file for approval and not to pursue further development
of the compound. The studies (PADDY-1 and PADDY-2) did not confirm Phase II
results or results from preclinical studies.
