The station is free to use at any time for all Bayer employees.

It is also one of 45 charging stations being installed along Pennsylvania Interstate 376 as part of the ?Energy 376 Corridor,? a project designed to create one of the most extensive charging station networks in the United States. Funding support for the project was made possible by an Alternate Fuels Innovation Grant (AFIG) grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

?The installation of the EV charging station is part of the company?s global commitment to sustainability,? said Dan Santmyer, Director of Operations, Bayer Pittsburgh site. ?We are proud to be able to provide our employees with the infrastructure that supports their efforts to drive, rent or purchase EVs and reduce their personal footprint on the environment.?

The Bayer station is a part of the company?s $17 million sustainable renovation project and is located next to the company?s EcoCommercial Building (ECB) Conference Center, a net-zero-energy facility.
